Frankfurt's banking towers, the Main and the Altstadt as pixel art

tiny frankfurt

Frankfurt as a tiny pixel-art city, square by square.

So far: 7 of 584 squares (1.2 %): Altstadt, Innenstadt, Sachsenhausen and the banking towers. Growing district by district.

What is this?

An isometric pixel-art map of Frankfurt am Main. Zoom in, pan around, and watch the trams, boats, bikes and people.

A weekend hobby project. Free, no ads, no cookies.

How it was made

  1. A 3D Frankfurt from open data: every building with its real roof shape, plus streets, the river, parks and trees.
  2. Real colours from Google Maps.
  3. Pixel art: the 3D city is turned into pixel art, then redrawn by an AI (Qwen-Image-Edit) so it looks hand-drawn.
